I am really happy that the Diaspora decentralized social networking system has finally released some source code today. I am really looking forward to testing it and seeing what it can do. Lately I have been really concerned about the security of my personal data, amid all of the ways companies try to monetize data from social networking sites like Facebook. Seeing there can be a social network where my information is owned by me and me alone is exciting and also a relief. Not to mention the fact that I can control what information is made available to others.
Now, if only I can find a rubygems RPM for CentOS..
